Central Bank Governor & US Special Economic Envoy to address upcoming plenary session
The Governor of the Central Bank, Professor Patrick Honohan, and the US Special Economic Envoy to Northern Ireland, Declan Kelly, will address the upcoming 20th anniversary plenary session of the British Irish Parliamentary Assembly in the Radisson BLU Farnham Estate Hotel, Cavan, Monday 22nd - Tuesday 23rd February.
Professor Honohan and Mr Kelly will speak on the plenary theme of "Towards Economic Recovery" that will also be addressed by the Taoiseach, Brian Cowen TD, in a keynote speech on Monday afternoon.
The Chief Constable of the Police Service of Northern Ireland, Matt Baggott, and the Commissioner of An Garda Siochana, Fachtna Murphy, will also address the Assembly on policing co-operation North and South.
The two-day plenary will mark the 20th anniversary of the Assembly that was first convened as the British-Irish Inter Parliamentary Body in London in 1990.
