Committee on Peoples and Cultures (Committee D)

This Committee considers issues relating to the peoples and the cultures of BIPA’s jurisdictions.

The policy areas of the March 2025 Joint Statement falling within its remit are:

  • Role of the arts
  • Culture
  • Indigenous minority languages
  • Sport (including in the context of major sports tournaments)
  • Youth
  • Education
  • Tourism
  • Mobility and cross-border working

— six members each from the delegations of the UK Parliament and the Houses of the Oireachtas;

— six members drawn from the delegations of the devolved and Channel Island legislatures.
